That was only the rush hour E. The rest of the time the E continued to operate to Bway/Laf although I have heard that for a while, the Es did operate all the way to 2 Ave until construction started on the Chrystie connection. By the way, until 1954, the D ran to Hudson Terminal 24/7 and the F ran to Church Av.
