Hoboken Terminal opened in 1907, Penn Station NY in 1910. A lot of people didn't think the PRR would be able to construct the tunnel that brought trains into Penn Station from the west, but of course they did manage it. But it was considered an amazing feat of engineering, which only a company with the resources of the PRR could have accomplished. Law or no law, I strongly doubt that the DL&W could have done it. |
