Whoever said it likely said it out of frustration. We all make frustrating remarks at one time or another that we may not really mean. How many passengers who were delayed that night may have felt so or said it to a fellow rider? Yeah, yeah, the employees are supposed to be held to a higher standard. But they are human. Maybe a dispatcher said it too because it jacked up his railroad for the rest of the night.Employees have lives and families too. Sometimes the overtime money is not important. Maybe he had a doctor's appt.? Sometimes we wait months for a specialist and now he has to miss it. Or missing a dinner date with the wife or girlfriend for a special occasion. Or needing to finish on time because one of the kids are in a school play or a sports event. |
