I'm thinking of two distinct noises that I hear on the R142 and newer models that I don't hear on the older vehicles:
1. When the train accelerates, there is a high-pitched whining sound that is borderline deafening (even for a guy like me who has hearing loss); and
2. When the train brakes, there is an agonizing, loud sound that occurs until the train reaches a complete stop.
