To build the B division route from Bushwick would require an enormous amount of property taken,displacement and brand new streets being created,carving its way across north Brooklyn.And yet, this would probably be the best reason to build a single deep bore tunnel capable of holding two tracks to avoid dealing with the issues of the street grid above. It's how the Germans avoided the need to rip up the Altstadt of Koeln for the Nord-Sud-Stadtbahn. |
