There was no AM QB service downtown and no PM QB service northbound. In the AM, all service running downtown was local (round N, diamond N, RR) and the same uptown in the PM.

Most QB trains laid up either in Astoria middle or north of 57th St during the midday hours. One or two even ran to/from Astoria in service. IIRC, in 1985 there were only 6 of them in each direction, much like today's Z. Due to it's limited runs, I used to go out of my way to find one and remember each (rare) trip.
