The map I had from 1985 stated that the QB (later the Q) was a peak direction only service, and that N trains operated express only in the peak direction to/from Brooklyn. BMT service in general seems like it was very confusing, with the peak direction Q, a similar arrangement with the Nassau/Bay Ridge peak direction R (mixing with the regular Broadway R), and the peak direction N to Whitehall. |
