MTA to Explore Underground Service in Future Snowstorms |

Posted by Wallyhorse on Thu Jan 29 01:23:37 2015 Looks like (depending on who you believe) there are admissions coming out the MTA went too far and will look at keeping underground portions of the subways open in future snowstorms: http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/mta-explore-running-trains-underground-snowstorms-article-1.2095857Whoever did finally make the order on shutting down the subways on Monday, whether it be Cuomo or Prendergast has to realize how much Wall Street was PO'ed by the storm. They can sugar-coat it all they like, but this for all intents and purposes based on earlier reports was Cuomo insisting on it as the MTA did have a "Plan V" just to handle storms like this that was developed after the 2010 fiasco. If the blame was shifted to Prendergast, it was likely because of David Faber on CNBC blasting Cuomo in what appeared to actually be up until this a politically-motivated shutdown with Cuomo likely concerned about the MTA screwing up and it coming back to hurt Cuomo's chances of running for President in particular. This storm is something Wall Street will not forget anytime soon and Cuomo/Prendegast likely are going to be facing pressure never to do this again like they did here. |
