Yes, it will be $2.48.BTW - if they do keep the 5% on the new base fare of $2.60. There will be only 3 whole nickel amount (remember the MVMs can only work on whole nickel amounts) where there will be nothing left over: $9.90 with bonus is $10.40 which equals 4 fares. (Double that-$19.80 will fall 1 cent short at $20.79) $47.05 with bonus is $49.40 which equals 19 fares. $52.00 with bonus equals $54.60 which equals 21 fares. The MTA should really consider allowing "off-amounts) - that is amounts between the 5 cent increments - in MVMs for credit/debit transactions. Example: $19.81 with bonus is $20.80 which equals 8 fares. ---- I know what some are going to say BUT - I am one of those who do not like have non full fare amounts left over on my MetroCard. $ |
