as a yardstick from the past...Great Northern bought the first lightweight Empire Builder sets for delivery in 1947. By 1954 they ordered an entire replacement fleet including the Great Domes for the Builder and reassigned the relatively young trainsets as the Western Star. Nothing to prevent Amtrak from assigning Acela !s to some other service when new equipment arrives.
