If it were based entirely on merit I think far fewer people would have an issue... substantially better working conditions Private industry had me standing on a roof pulling 40lb cinderblocks up 5 flights with nothing but a bucket and rope in the freezing rain. And working 16 hr days for 12 straight days with exactly $0 in overtime, since the tech industry is overtime exempt. This same private industry that fired a manager who had the gall to offer 2 hours comp time for every 4 hours unpaid overtime worked. |
