IRT-PRR Sunnyside?

The signal diagram there for the mainline through the yard shows a little box marked IRT on a spur off Line 4 just before the north tube, complete with a signal for returning to the PRR. This is now the Amtrak MOW track that frequently shows in pictures of the 7 line riser taken from 49th/Hunters Point Ave. Wonder if it was just some sort of construction material siding, perhaps for the 1927 extension to Times Square?
