And I would make it clear to those two bit politicians the following:1. The C would also be a 24/7 line if it goes to Lefferts. This would eliminate the overnight shuttle and the two-seat ride those passengers have, plus you would have both lines operate through parts of Queens 24/7 as opposed to just the A (increasing service overall for the stations in question) and potentially have the A operate express in the overnight since the C would also be running then. 2. If needed, a limited number of A trains can operate in the peak direction from Lefferts in the mornings (and especially early mornings since the Casino is not open until 8:00 AM) and to Lefferts in the afternoon. 3. Casino patrons will not stand for alternating A trains to the casino. If you want casino patrons off the roads and on the subways, we need to have ALL A trains operate to the Rockaways. 4. The As would alternate between Far Rockaway and Rockaway Park, though during overnights the As could do the round-robin to both Rockaway Park and Far Rockaway (terminating at Far Rockaway after going to Rockaway Park first), set up so that those actually going from Rockaway Park to JFK, Brooklyn and Manhattan can switch over at Beach 67th between trains with ample time to make the transfer. And yes, if I'm operating the casino, I'm offering to pay at least some of the costs of making this happen, especially if it gets me more casino patrons. |
