This is one time I disagree:1. On half of the Liberty Avenue section (Grant Ave.-Rockaway Blvd.), there actually would be a significant increase in overall service since you would have the Far Rockaway AND Rockaway Park branches of the A train AND the C train also operating to Lefferts. 2. Lefferts riders at the three stations affected can make a same platform transfer anywhere between Rockaway Blvd. and Grant Avenue or a cross-platform transfer at Euclid. 3. A the C would be a 24/7 line as I would have it, there would be NO overnight shuttle, which would eliminate the two-seat ride late-night riders on the Lefferts branch currently have (something people who live there conveniently forget about). The fact is, the casino is likely going to force changes on the A/C, especially once the full casino opens late next month. Some of these politicians and others are going to have to realize that casino is likely going to dictate changes of one kind or another they may not like. |
