How often do the trains switch between (2) and (5) service? I know I have seen a lot of #2 trains with #5 maps lately, and vice versa, but don't the trains usually come out of the yard as one or the other, and remain the same number until they return to the yard? If so, the conductor of the consist's first run of the day (or T/O for the front half, C/R for the rear half) could flip the signs when needed. How do they do it on R32s or other equipment that still has manual roll signs?
