The 2/5 dispatchers care a lot more about providing available equipment to keep the trains on schedule than they do about making sure the strip maps match. The 2 & 5 are the only IRT lines which share equipment (except on a very rare occasion when things get out of whack at the Utica relay), which is why you never see 4 or 6's with the wrong maps.I do personally think that they should have kept the equipment with 5 maps (6300-6600) out of 241 and the equipment with 2 maps (6700+) out of Dyre this weekend, since it was bad enough that nothing was going where it was supposed to be, and the public couldn't even read the maps to see what was coming up. |
