People get murdered every day in America, and Honor killings are terrible, but to generalize a whole section or specific type of people or religion is also wrong, as in Latin America there are Honor Killing type murders and you have a lot of women who die around the world due to domestic violence.

You completely miss the point. The origins of this thread were about a Muslim husband who beat his wife to death for not voting "properly." Such killings are not aberrations in the Islamic world as shown by the link tot he Amnesty International piece I linked to. That was my only point.

Not necessarily.

It works in Turkey and Southeast Asia.

It's Arab, North African and South Asian cultures that are sick regardless of religion.

Religion is an excuse to promote that sickness within.

Egypt's neighbours watch rise of Muslim Brotherhood's Mursi

From the Article:
"For the timebeing, they need not worry - foreign policy remains firmly in the hands of the ruling military council, Scaf.

The contours of Egypt's new political system may not emerge before the end of the year. Even then, the new government will still be very busy putting its own house in order.

The Muslim Brotherhood are shrewd pragmatists and they are fully aware that Egypt has enough internal problems of its own."

Losing Candidate Shafiq Fleeing Egypt Ahead of Corruption Charges

By: Jewish Press Staff
Published: June 26th, 2012
Latest update: June 27th, 2012
Ahmed Mohamed Shafik Zaki, who came second in Egypt’s presidential runoff election last week, is reported to have boarded a flight to Abu Dhabi Early Tuesday morning. He was seen off along with his three daughters to the Cairo airport VIP section by two employees of his campaign, then took a bus to the old terminal.

According to Al Ahram, several corruption complaints have been filed with the Office of the Prosecutor against Shafiq, who served as Mubarak’s last prime minister.

A high-level judicial source told Al Ahram that a Justice Ministry investigator, will receive this week the report prepared by experts in the Illicit Profiteering and Real Estate Agency who have examined procedures for the allocation of land sold by the Cooperative for Construction and Housing for Pilots, which was headed by Ahmed Shafiq in the 1990′s.

Former MP Essam Sultan of Al-Wasat Party issued a complaint against Shafiq as the former head of the cooperative, accusing him of selling a large piece of land to Alaa and Gamal Mubarak in 1993, at an extremely low price of only 75 piasters (about 12.5 cents) per square meter (about 10.5 sq. ft.).

The office of the prosecutor general Abdel Meguid Mahmoud has also transferred a complaint to El-Seidi against former president Hosni Mubarak Ahmed Shafiq, and former agriculture minister Youssef Wally, for illegally seizing 119 feddans of land (about 125 acres).

According to the complaint, the defendants seized land that belongs to fish farms, and illegally allocated it to the Pilots’ Association for Land Development, which was headed by Shafiq.

In the months following the ousting of Mubarak, more than 30 separate lawsuits of corruption were filed against Shafiq.

Bon voyage.

Natasha Smith, British Journalism Student, Recounts Tahrir Square Mob Sexual Assault After Election

By Alyssa Creamer
Posted: 06/28/2012 3:59 pm | Updated: 06/28/2012 11:20 pm
A British journalist has recounted her horrifying tale of near-death experience, after she was groped and sexually assaulted by a mob of men in Cairo's Tahrir Square on Sunday.

Natasha Smith, a senior at a British journalism school, was walking, guarded by two male friends and a camera wound around her hand. She was there to film post-election celebratory festivities in Tahrir Square.

For Smith, the atmosphere in Egypt was jubilant; fireworks lit up the sky; the footage was excellent, and it would all likely work well for her final collegiate project — a 20-minute documentary on women’s rights and abuses against women in Egypt.

But, as Smith details in her blog, within moments as she walked to the edge of the Kasr El Nil Bridge, the crowd’s mentality shifted. Within seconds, Smith writes that as she tried to turn back, she found herself dragged away from her male friend, Callum Paton and immediately was “groped all over, with increasing force and aggression.”

"Men started ripping off all my clothes," she told CNN. "First of all, it was my skirt, and that just went straight away, and I didn't even feel my underwear being removed. Then my shoes went and clothes on my upper half were just being ripped off me, and that was quite painful."

A few men attempted to protect her. She wrote that they tried to drag her away from the crowd into a “crushed” tent.

“I was tossed around once more, being violated every second,” Smith wrote about her experience within the tent. “I was dragged naked across the dirty ground. Men pulled my blonde hair — a beacon of my alien identity.”

She then was moved to another tent, this time, the men trying to protect her formed a “human shield” around her that proved futile. An ambulance roved through the crowds in an attempt to save her, but was infiltrated by mob members and forced to drive away.

Smith wrote: “I began to think, ‘maybe this is just it. Maybe this is how I go, how I die. I’ve had a good life. Whether I live or die, this will all be over soon. Maybe this is my punishment for some of the emotional pain I’ve caused others through some foolish mistakes and poor judgment recently. I hope it’s quick. I hope I die before they rape me.’”

Ultimately, Smith was brought to a medical tent after Paton convinced several of the tent’s occupants to protect Smith during her transport into it. Smith lost consciousness and awoke to the sound of men pounding at the tent and a whirlwind of women clothing her.

“The women told me the attack was motivated by rumors spread by troublemaking thugs that I was a foreign spy, following a national advertising campaign warning of the dangers of foreigners,” Smith wrote in her blog. “But if that was the cause, it was only really used as a pretext, an excuse, to molest and violate a blonde young Western girl.”

Smith was cloaked in a burka, and exited the tent holding hands with an Egyptian male who pretended she was his wife. He instructed her not to reveal herself by crying through the streets.

Paton told CNN that if the medical tent’s staff had not helped, then Smith may not have survived.

Smith has since left Egypt, returning home where she feels resolved to continue her work. Her camera, along with her footage was taken seconds after the mob began its assault upon her.

“My documentary will be fueled by my passion to help make people aware of just how serious this issue is, and that it’s not just a passing news story that briefly gets people’s attention then is forgotten,” Smith wrote. “This is a consistent trend and it has to stop. Arab women, western women — there are so many sufferers.”

That response is beneath contempt. It is on a par with those who snidely called 9/11, not long after its occurrence, a "faith-based initiative." It displays a hateful attitude and an ignorant equivalence of everyone with religious beliefs. Atheists have not acquitted themselves so well in the world to spit on others.

And that goes for you too, Pigs.

It's more than that. It's cultural hatred as well. Defiling women of another culture is a classic expression of dominance and revenge.
