Once "baby" comes out, that's usually the end of the discussion. :)Like I said though, the point is to try to incapacitate your opponent rather than killing them. Gives you a better chance to go home. |

Indeed, I'm aware of that - my point being that as a gun owner, you should have sufficient skills to use appropriate response to a situation, and to my mind at least, the only justification for "shoot to kill" is if the other guy has a weapon and it's only a question of who goes down first. |

When riots breaks out and your neighborhood is breaking down and the police or the Guard cannot get there in time (or high-tailed it), who will save your family and property and those of your neighbors and loved ones? Somebody else? The Canadians? The Bahamians? Just like with the health care mandate, the passing off of collective defense to others is not only freeloading but also brings real and immediate costs to the wider community when things break down. Having people have driver's licenses brings a benefit to society. Firearms education and training should be the same. You've already got JROTC to piggy-back on for a lot of that. Immigrants wishing to become citizens can take the same course in the evening or on weekends at some local HS and be issued a weapon upon taking the Oath of Naturalization. |
