I am not talking about that he may or may not have done this, but the way he handles adversary is not the way I would want a president to do so. A president will have all sorts of "uncomfortable" things come up, and he can't just say "I won't answer any of these questions, attack the media like he has, or pretend it didn't happen. He should have said, here's what happened, here's my side of the story, and let the chips fall where they may.His handling of this has been anything but "presidential". Then again, our current president is anything but presidential in a lot of how he handles adversary too, so it wouldn't make me not vote for Cain, if he became the candidate, but he's not really my choice right now either. |

Not really, though I think eventually a quantity of scandals will do what each individual one cannot. There's considerable anger on the right over how this is being handled by the media, and how the Republican establishment (Karl Rove) is giving legitimacy to it. Sticking by Cain is seen as a way to flip off the MSM, and unless he raped underaged girls by the dozens over a period of 13 years, said outrage will still remain entirely politically driven (absurdly overboard from the left, dismissive from the right). The sad part for Democrats here is that Cain would self destruct on his own had they just allowed him to continue speaking. He's a gaffe machine proving he's not ready for prime time. Sadly, racist Democrats just couldn't wait for things to naturally happen, because it was quite possible he'd win the GOP nomination and face Obama next November. That could not happen because it would fatally and permanently weaken the "GOP is racist" meme the Dems absolutely need to keep their rag-tag coalition together. |

This is why the WaPo decided to target Marco Rubio's heritage last month with an awful piece condemned as inaccurate by almost everyone. Most people do not understand the specifics of Cain's economic proposals and the reaction to them by the majority is too much of a wild card. |

How could I forget?Once again ... they could have easily done this without so much as a peep out of DC. But they chose to put in WRITING that they were doing this out of revenge, and then said the same thing to the media. And yes, what they did was ILLEGAL. Or should we just not enforce the laws? Here's the future you're fighting for then ... over in India, workers have been going out on strike because of some seriously unfair work rules. The current government is now setting up their equivalent of "enterprise zones" there where rules no longer apply. Some managers make almost US$300 a MONTH under labor agreements that give them a pittance of a salary and if they NEVER miss a day of work, they can get the rest of it up to US$300 per month as a bonus at the end of the year for being a "good worker."In the "enterprise zone" equivalent, no such deal and certainly nowhere near that in wages. Now your friends are telling us all that America has to "compete" with those wages. Guess what's going to happen to YOU? Start budgeting, that's the plan for your future, bro ... |

My contention is this is not the province of the NLRB. All the rest is bullshit. If the union feels that Boeing has acted unfairly against their members, let them go on strike or take it to court but the Seattle employees of Boeing are not affected. They still have their jobs. They still have their benefits and they still have their hours. If Boeing wants to expand and create 2,000 new jobs, that's a purely business decision between them, their financiers and their stock holders. |

I've not found any documentation that even hints that to be the case. On the contrary, I've found on their own website, what I call proof that they are investing in the people of South Carolina because they have every intent to stay. Again, how does the NLRB stop a company from expanding as a business strategy? Hundreds of unionized companies have, over the last 3 decades, left the north east for better climates or for more favorable tax situations. Many major investment firms and banks have moved their back offices to NJ. Workers were uprooted. The NLRB has never once intervened. Why now? Especially when jobs are not being moved. They are being created. If what Boeing did falls within the purview of the NLRB, fine them if they've wronged the union. Let the Justice Dept. take on the case if they've done something illegal but the NLRB has never had a say in a corporation's plans to re-locate or to expand. It's not part of their mandate. This is just another obama ploy to hold the labor vote while he continues to let them bleed jobs. That's all it is. End of story. |
