Not really, though I think eventually a quantity of scandals will do what each individual one cannot. There's considerable anger on the right over how this is being handled by the media, and how the Republican establishment (Karl Rove) is giving legitimacy to it. Sticking by Cain is seen as a way to flip off the MSM, and unless he raped underaged girls by the dozens over a period of 13 years, said outrage will still remain entirely politically driven (absurdly overboard from the left, dismissive from the right).The sad part for Democrats here is that Cain would self destruct on his own had they just allowed him to continue speaking. He's a gaffe machine proving he's not ready for prime time. Sadly, racist Democrats just couldn't wait for things to naturally happen, because it was quite possible he'd win the GOP nomination and face Obama next November. That could not happen because it would fatally and permanently weaken the "GOP is racist" meme the Dems absolutely need to keep their rag-tag coalition together. |
