I cannot speak for anyone else but I can say that in NYC we have all kinds of Parades. For example the West Indian Parade in Brooklyn. At that parade it is 100% black. You do not see any other groups protesting. There is also a different set of rules at that parade. Police are far more tolerant with respect to alcohol and marijuana use because they do not want to inflame anyone and cause any riots.It is a great parade though. Those women are OMG georgous. Then you have the PR parade and the issue with the plywood over the windows along 5th Avenue. I think the issue is more cultural than anything else. |
