Again, common sense will tell you that unless you monitor every single person's contribution, you can't definitively make a statement that B has donated more than A. Best you can say is "based on this sample of X amount of people, B donated more than A". That's not same as saying unequivocally that ALL B donate more than ALL A.

Ok, taking the leaders of the conservative/progressive movements may help identify trends in what the majority in those movements are doing, like in a poll.
Tax returns:

In 2005 the President Bush's income was $618,694. He donated to church's and charities $75,560, 12% of his income.
In 2005 VP Cheney's income was $8,819,006. He donated $6,869,655, 77% of his income.

In 2008 the Obama's earned $2,600,000 and donated to 37 charities $172,050, 6% of their income.
In 2008 the Bidens's earned $269,256 and donated $1,885. less than 1% of their income.

Maybe, he's so opposed to something as minor as school lunches that he uses it as evidence "against" me for the list of liberals.

I don't get how someone can be (supposedly) in favor of giving children free education but not free meals. The latter are so cheap compared to the former. Why is it that students should be entitled to education but not proper nutrition which actually helps education?

Right-wingers are known for their knee-jerk opposition to government policies that don't directly benefit them regardless of the overall impact on society. Some right wingers are education and are fully aware of the consequences of the policies they advocate and I respect their views (and often agree with them), but LuchAAA doesn't seem like one of those.

The marginal utility of money decreases as income and wealth increase. i.e. The same percent of your money with a higher income is worth less to you. It's the principal justification for a progressive tax scheme.

This doesn't explain why Obama donated less than Bush, but otherwise it works out in your example (However your example only looks at income and ignores wealth).

What I was trying to say is that you can't label yourself a certain political viewpoint becuause then you have to follow every belief in that system like a checklist.
I think a person should keep their minds open to each issue and use their thinking ability.
Abortion is one of those. So many people who are pro-life don't even have children! And they certainly don't want to adopt all the kids that will exist if abortions are made illegal.
I love the enviroment and enjoy taking pictures and hiking up here where I live in Orange. I don't believe in man made global warming but I am not opposed to the federal government keeping corporations from destroying our country either through regulations.
I believe welfare/food stamps/SSI are needed for people as a safety net when life takes a unexpected bad turn but I don't beleive it should be a way of life foe generations.
I think the death penalty should only be used in cases where there is physical evidence, not on the word of a witness you claimed they saw the crime in a dark alley 300 yards away.

Not scientific, but in my general experience, I have found conservatives more generous than liberals in terms of donation, tips, and many things involving voluntary money.
But again, it's very general, and far from scientific.

Exactly. It's the "coming to us" crap I hate, not that some needy people get it. Unfortunately, I don't find someone with "Kids with $125 sneakers, iPhones, Baby Phat jackets and their parents have satellite television" to be "needy".

Plenty of CSX locos go by here every hour with hood ornaments firmly implanted

Hoggers don't see them, or just want to hit 'em (like a lot of truckers on I-80 that smear deer blood all over the asphalt). The old rapid-fire staccato signal works for me; it'll work for them too.

I am also dead against the cutting of the free Metrocard program. Dead against.

Jeff Rosen is more liberal than conservative. A life-long civil servant from Long Island can't be too conservative. I think he just happens to like Dr. Michael Savage, so people figure Rosen is a conservative.

I think his frustration comes from the fact that he's a life-long civil servant from Long Island who should vote Dem, wants to vote Dem, but can't because the party has shifted so far to the left.

Kind of like you. You're a college-educated Catholic from Queens who voted for Clinton in 1992, and the party has lost your vote b/c they have shifted too far to the left for you.
