There's an IronMan Swim every year called escape from Alcatraz that's televised on NBC. Actually, I think it's a triathalon, but I'm not sure.

Ayup.

Egyptait is pretty good, but there are lots of carriers that fly to central and southern Africa with second-hand jets that haven't seen a competent mechanic in a long time.

There also were couple of drink hustlers outside of bars (Beer? Pina colada?") I'd sooner have drunk out of a clogged toilet in a homeless shelter during an amoebic dysentery epidemic.

I have to agree. That wouldnt be my time of a good time, and the toilet analogy seems to be accurate.

I truely enjoyed Alcatraz when I was in San Fran. I enjoyed the ride over, and also thought the tour was good. It was a cloudy day when I went, so did get great shots of San Francisco from there, as the sun wasn't out. But of course, the cloudiness of the day added to the gloomy feel. I found the place highly interesting though, even if a bit depressing. I like "urban exploration" and ruin sort of things, so perhaps that's why I found it so interesting. I would go again if I was in the area again, as it's been about 10 years since I was at Alcatraz. Idon't think I would do it every time I went to SF, but every once in a while, it's interesting.

I too went to the top of the ESB. If you havent done it, you aren't missing much other than saying you were there. The normal observation deck is much better.

Did any of you guys ever go on the roofs outside on the WTC? I thought that was pretty cool when I did it, but some of the times I went up it was also closed. The normal inside observation deck was probably better in that case too, but it was sort of cool outside too.

Been west of the Mississippi, except for Mexico

Probably been to more places west of the Mississipp than east. And what is New Orleans, lol, west or east? I just remember it's ON the mississippi, and forgot which side, lol.

Been to a wedding in a house of worship

More than I can count

Worn a tuxedo

First time at my Prom, latest about two years ago at (see wedding above) one of those weddings, I was in the wedding party.

Cooked anything by frying

??? You never even cooked eggs?

Watched American Idol

I wish I could say the same. I rather hear the sounds of cats in a cat fight.

Gambled on a sporting event

As recently as the latest football pool.

Been to Africa, Australia or Antarctica

Same here....

Gone hunting

Never have either, nor any desire too...but I don't know if fishing counts, as I have done that plenty of times.

Driven on the Atlantic Beach Bridge (and as long as the Nassau County Bridge Authority continues to exist, will never do so)

Have a few times.

Played regular golf

Never real golf, nor have any desire, but have done miniature golf and at a putting range.

Gone rafting

Nope, me either.

Driven a power boat

I have a boat, so that answers that question...

Driven a car with a stick-shift

Have, but prefer not to.

Driven on the Harlem River Lift Span of the Triborough Bridge

I have been on it, but never drove it.

Smoked a Cuban cigar

No loss, although perhaps I tried a bad one.

Gotten a manicure

...nor plan too.

Been in the Pacific Ocean in the United States

Have.

Worn a tephillin while in a synagogue

I have never been in a synagogue.

Walked across an international border

I did on the Canadian side....only ridden through on the Mexican side.
Did you ever walk across 1st Ave to the United Nations? :)

Exactly. It's not the lack of E-ZPass, it's the corruption. Most of the money goes to administrative costs that wouldn't exist if the bridge authority didn't exist. If they want to keep the toll, they should have the bridge run by the Thruway Authority or MTA.
