Your post was so fucking confusing until I realized you meant “incest.”Most states do not criminalize cousin marriage. Another famous historical example of incest was the Habsburg dynasty. I like to make fun of “purebred” (euphemism for inbred) dogs by saying that “that dog is so inbred he/she can be the King of Spain.” |

Most states do not criminalize cousin marriage. It also seems to have been more OK 2 centuries ago. A brother of my great-great grandfather married his first cousin. Giuliani got his marriage to his second cousin annulled, but that was a dubious thing. There's nothing in Catholic Church rules that makes that unallowed. (Though one relative of mine married her double second cousin and had to get Church dispensation for that.) |

A pair of double first cousins are genetically related as if they were siblings.European monarchs were still inbred until recently, because god forbid they marry someone “beneath” them. What a bunch of degenerates. |

Posted by AlM on Sat May 7 13:23:09 2022, in response to Re: Concerning Insist?, posted by Spider-Pig on Sat May 7 13:06:57 2022. Full siblings (sharing both parents) share 50% of DNA. Double first cousins share 25%.I recently read about a bizarre phenomenon in an article about genetic searches: 3/4 siblings. They share one parent, and their other two parents are siblings. Supposedly it happens more often than anyone would think. On a very closely related topic, signing up for 23andMe can result in very embarrassing situations for people you don't even know. What if I sign up, and then my second cousin once removed discovers they are related to my deceased uncle but they are the child of my uncle's not-yet-deceased secretary? |

Posted by Fisk Ave Jim on Sat May 7 15:34:48 2022, in response to Re: Concerning Insist?, posted by AlM on Sat May 7 13:23:09 2022. "signing up for 23andMe can result in very embarrassing situations for people you don't even know."Embarrassing and sometimes disastrous. Signing up for 23andMe can satisfy curiosity about origins and ancestors, but you could be playing with fire. I know of a woman who signed up and found out that who she thought was her father was not. DNA samples didn't match. Her mom had an affair which produced a daughter. Once "studzy" found out his "mistress" was pregnant, he left town never to be seen again. The daughter tracked him down thru 23andMe to find out that he died 20 years ago in Maine. She never knew her natural father. She was raised by her natural mother and "father". They are both dead now. I wonder if he ever knew that the daughter he raised was not his child? So signing up for 23andMe can open up a huge can or worms, to say the least. Proceed with caution. |
