Double first cousins share 25%.I recently read about a bizarre phenomenon in an article about genetic searches: 3/4 siblings. They share one parent, and their other two parents are siblings. Supposedly it happens more often than anyone would think. On a very closely related topic, signing up for 23andMe can result in very embarrassing situations for people you don't even know. What if I sign up, and then my second cousin once removed discovers they are related to my deceased uncle but they are the child of my uncle's not-yet-deceased secretary? |
