Not only that but it also makes it clear that murder is completely unacceptable. We end two crimes at once!

I'm being sarcastic because I think that such conduct was already clear. I don't know if she can be convicted, but I want her prosecuted because we don't know how deep this goes. She's already removed from dice, but we're other prosecutors complicit? The police chief? We don't know yet.

I know the state intervened in Arbery prosecution, not sure if this is also them/special prosecutor or whether it is replacement DA (even though that isn’t the terminology Georgia uses).

If she committed the crime of obstruction of justice as defined under Georgia law, she should be convicted of it. I'm sure her lawyers can get an almost totally white jury like the Arbery defendants got, so there's no worry about a wrongful conviction.* She'd only be convicted if the case was solid.

* Cynical comment not reflecting my actual views about Georgia juries but reflecting the expected right wing commentary if she were to be convicted.

My problem is I don’t want to see every case of prosecutorial discretion turn into Obstruction of Justice charge as I said earlier. Speedy trials can only happen because of plea deals on other cases and the only way that will continue is if prosecutors are not worried that the next one they make will turn into trumped up charges against him/her/them. For reference, here is the Georgia law.

But prosecutorial discretion and obstruction of justice are obviously different things.

The former is telling the cops something like: "Thank you for the work you've done, but I'm sorry, I don't feel I can win a case based on the evidence you have provided. Of course, if in your judgment you should continue the investigation, feel free."

The latter would require telling the police some kind of false information that would cause them to cease their investigation, whereas without hearing that lie they would have continued to investigate. For example, falsely telling the police "A confidential witness came to me. I can't tell you what they said, but I am very confident that the people you are investigating didn't commit any crime."

Neither of us knows whether the prosecutor did the latter or not.

I agree. It wasn't reckless at all based on my understanding of the word. If he had been pointing his gun at people ( the prosecution alleged that he did, but I didn't see that in the video that they showed as evidence) or waving it around, that would be reckless.

Reckless need not be provably criminal.

Any number of people die in accidents each year, or kill others (motorcycling, bicycling, hiking, climbing, boating, driving too fast, etc.). Most of them never get charged with a crime.

He had to walk to get to the dealership...with the weapon.

Doesn't that apply to the rioters as well? Another thing, the Powers That Be have gone out of their way to Neuter and make the police powerless in making pro active enforcement while these riots are happening, so residents and businesses owners feel betrayed and helpless, and some use alternate ways to protect their homes, businesses, and property.

Of course it applies to the rioters. They are very unsavory people.

But just because the rioters were reckless, criminal fools doesn't mean that Rittenhouse wasn't a reckless, if non-criminal, fool.

You know what, though? Rittenhouse did not own a home, business or property in Kenosha. He chose to go to Kenosha with a rifle to look for trouble.

There is no legitimate reason for a 17-year-old boy with no medical or law-enforcement training, to go to a known civil-disturbance area with a rifle. None. You can't deflect or twist your way out of that reality.

Did Rittenhouse have any security or law-enforcement training? Was he trained in the safe handling and usage of his rifle? W&t did Rittenhouse take it upon himself to go to Jenisha to "watch" someone else's dealership?

Nobody rationally gets up from their living room couch and says, "it's my sworn duty to go to some other city where a riot is happening, and 'protect' Larry's used cars with a semiautomatic rifle". That just doesn't make any sense.

Why would you need that? You can watch a car lot without that training. Was he trained in the handling and use of the rifle? He said he was. Kenosha is where his father lives, and he spends time there as well, that myth about going there with the rifle has long been debunked The bottom line is that the Libs/Left is mad because he defended himself against rioters who wanted to kill him. But that still doesn't answer the question of who wanted him there. If the business asked him to be there then it is open and shut that he had every right to be there. If you saw on television that a riot was happening in Newark (or in some other random city across state lines where you have a connection to) would you just drop everything to go "protect" a random business there uninvited knowing you could be in danger for your life?
