Mr. Trump visited a police precinct and a neighboring firehouse in Midtown Manhattan.

Except the biggest losses were in the firehouses and precincts in Lower Manhattan. But Trump just couldn't be bothered.

Lets Talk About Who Was There (was: Conspicuous Absence)

Posted by Train Dude on Sun Sep 12 08:44:36 2021, in response to Re: Conspicuous Absence, posted by Train Dude on Sun Sep 12 07:32:17 2021.

So while Donald Trump was not at ground zero yesterday, let's talk about who was there.

Bill Clinton #42 was there:
It was during his presidency that the 9/11 hijackers came to this country. Whe he used Monica Lewinsky as a humidors it was his appointee, Jamie Goerlick who enforced the rules preventing the FBI & CIA from sharing intelligence about the terrorists in the US.

George Bush #43 was there:
Not so many years ago, the marxist democrats who accused Mr. Bush of not responding to reports about airliners being used in possible terror attacks.

Barack Obama #44 was there:
He dealt with the taliban to negotiate the release of a US deserter, bo bergdhal in exchange for 5 taliban terrorists. Bergdhal was worthless to the US but 4 of the 5 released terrorists are now leaders of the taliban government in Afghanistan. The same terrorist government that now holds over 100 American citizens hostage.

Joe Biden #46 was there:
As vice president, he alone opposed Barack Obama sending more troops to Afghanistan. When Osama bin laments location was finally confirmed, it was Joe biden who was the lone voice against killing him. Of Joe biden;
Robert Gates said that biden has been on the wrong side of every important foreign policy decision in the last 45 years.
It was Barack Obama who said never underestimate Joe biden's ability to fuck things up.

So while Donald Trump may not have shown up, and may have made a stupid comment, this is why Jimmy Carter did not want to be in their company as he could not take credit for any of the mess 42, 43, 44 & 46 created.

No, Trump wasn't there because he is a self-absorbed douchebag, and Carter is 96 years old, with age-related travel restrictions.

Oh, and alone of all the living Presidents, Trump agreed to release 5,000 Taliban prisoners, including their current leader, a condition none of the other living Presidents would ever have acceded to. The same terrorist government that now rules Afghanistan was enabled by none other than your Lord and Savior.

Oh, and Obama never said "never underestimate Joe Biden's ability to fuck things up." Your pathological lying is sickening.

Does Biden even know if he was there or not? After all, he thinks he visited the synagogue in Pittsburgh where 11 people were murdered, when in fact he was never there.

Another story the Times never reported on, by the way. Just like the phone call Biden made to the Afghan President.

From the article posted on that source:

"Barack Obama reportedly spoke with a Democrat, expressing his private doubts about Joe Biden becoming the Democrat presidential nominee in 2020.

According to Politico, the former president said: "Don't underestimate Joe's ability to f... things up."

Someone else said Obama spoke those words. It's not a direct quote. Nice try, worm boy.

351 firefighters and EMTs were killed at the WTC. 60 police officers died on the line of duty. Yet, at Cantor Fitzgerald alone, 658 people perished. Ordinary civilians were by far the greatest number of casualties at the WTC on 9/11/01.

First responders, however, do comprise the greatest number of post-9/11 casualties from long-term illnesses or injury complications.

While four of the six living Presidents made time in their lives to attend 9/11 anniversary ceremonies this morning (Carter, being 96, couldn't travel, but spoke virtually), Trump was conspicuous by his absence from any of them.

Trump recently praised Robert E. Lee, a traitor who waged war against the United States, but won't honor genuine American heroes at the sites where they were brutally murdered.

What a cowardly scumbag.

Well, I'm glad he wasn't. However, If maturity prevailed by all concerned, he could have rode with the other ex presidents and just for one day, forget about all differences in personality & philosophy and focused on the real real reason for being there, respect and honor the dead & comfort the living. But that wasn't meant to be.
BTW, being there in attendance front and center listening to my nephew reading his father's name on the stage, Donald Trump was the furthest thing on my mind. Most everybody elses' mind too.

Years ago, whenever the subject of my brother being killed on 9/11, usually the first question out of the box was "was he a fireman?"
That used to royally piss me off. My response (when I was in the mood to argue) usually was NO! he was on the 98th Fl of the North Tower. He was with Marsh McLennan. So he wasn't a fireman. Does that make our loss any different? Does that somehow diminish the loss or make it hurt less. Does that somehow make his wife & 3 kids he left behind insignificant since he was "just" a civilian? Does that make his death somewhat of an after thought as in the civilians killed there were some form of peons compared to the firemen?
That usually ended the conversation right there.
Later on I found out that he was the fire warden of his floor. Maybe that counts for something,
