The Europeans did to the natives what the natives would have done to us. The difference is Europe had navies. Spain. England. Portugal. They had to colonize to survive. If the Indians had a Navy they would have done the same thing to whoever they stumbled upon.

We were found to be fit for the slave trade, lynched, our neighborhoods redlined and Wells Fargo refusing to give loans to us because we sagged our pants, LOL. Blaming black people (or virtually any vulnerable population in general) for our own mistreatment, misfortune, and social neglect is rather low-level thinking, charitably speaking. Community and/or cultural dysfunction stems from the human condition. Most issues that come from the black community are the result of centuries of institutional racism. Black people have attempted to better our own communities, and many times those efforts were thwarted by hateful and spiteful (redacted) men to the point where many black people have a defeatist attitude. If you take away people's resources and dignity, bad things happen. That criticism should be redirected to the government for not economically investing in poorer communities. With economic investment comes jobs, and with jobs comes wealth, social institution, and structure. Am I trying to justify criminal behavior and letting crooks of the hook? Of course not, that insinuates that there's something mentally wrong with black people that makes them us to be criminals, which is not true. Most people in general aren't going to become crooks if they can see a more viable option for themselves, but institutional racism has put many people in a hole that they can't just "lift their pants" up out of.

I have less of a problem of actual survivors getting $$$, they lived through it. There's no surviving slaves or masters alive.

In one of my classes, I also remember reading about a Spanish explorer named Cabeza de Vaca. He shipwrecked on the Texas coast in 1527, and his party survived off of cannibalism until the disgusted Natives came upon them and gave them food. Other pilgrims would also exhume Native corpses and eat them, but I don't recall reading about de Vaca's crew specifically doing that. Later on, the Spaniards started to spread lies saying the tribe that helped da Vaca's crew practiced cannibalism themselves as a way to dehumanize the people of that tribe, but de Vaca lived amongst them for many years, writing a memoir of this time living with them, with no mention of the natives practicing cannibalism in that memoir whatsoever.

My point is that the Indian nations were so violent, they literally committed war crimes against one another. Historians portray them as sitting around smoking the peace pipe until Europeans came. A few years ago some philanthropists excavated Indian skeletons and hired experts to determine their cause of death. The goal was to advance the narrative that Indians were all killed by white men. Instead the evidence showed that they were killed in battles with warring tribes or as POW's or slaves. As a result the research money was cut off because it didn't fit the victim status narrative. There are reasons the Pilgrims survived and a big part of it is they simply didn't land in the territory or a brutal tribe. The tribes most fit for war, who would have killed or enslaved the Pilgrims, didn't live in New England. The weakest lived there because of the hunting. The strongest men hunted the biggest game and that wasn't in New England. Today we fight over oil and trade routes. Back then it was over hunting rights and reproduction. Pilgrims simply got lucky. If the Indian nations had a Navy they would have done the same thing to the Europeans or Africans if they landed there.
