In NYC AM radio, theres fringe high on the dial frequency Spanish, Korean, Religious , & now a new Black Information Sta on WWRL. But overall, it has many more stations that cater to the higher end demo that like sports & conservative talk and all news.NYC FM radio is mostly music, except for WBAI & WRKS. |

TV is more nationalized than radio so a TV equivalent would be uninteresting. The exception would be local newscasts, but there’s not much demand for watching those in other cities.The disadvantage of apps is of course you use up your data plan (but now that you can get unlimited data again, you can go that route) and it’s possible some remote areas get shitty data service, while AM goes pretty far. |

Thats where most of their listeners are. Its simulcast on 101.9 in an attempt to get the younger demos who listen more to FM v/s AM as a rule. Younger listeners are the bread and butter in terms of advertising $$$. The younger you are, the more you spend is the way Madison Ave sees it. |

The nighttime range quirk allows me to pick up CHML from Hamilton, Ontario on my car radio (900 kHz).Back in the early 60's, I would pick up WKBW (Buffalo,NY) on a tube table radio if the atmosphere was right. Over the years, being a US citizen has meant different things in different places. Some of them don't pay Federal Tax nor do they vote for President. If they move to one the 50 states, they have all rights. But Samoan are US Nationals not citizens, and are excluded from certain jobs where citizenship is required. Ironic, since the highest percentage of enlistment into the US military is Samoans. DC gets to pay taxes, vote for President, but not have a vote in Congress. |
