Herd immunity means a couple of million would die in the process, according to Fauci, who is a hell of a lot more qualified than Trump, who probably cheated his way through high school Biology.

I agree Fauci probably did from all the screw ups. The CDC is still publishing an outdated list for covid-19 symptoms that is not in comity with the community at large. But on topic:
Doctors and the WHO says herd immunity = vaccine.
Hence Trumps operation warp speed and the whole point.

The NY area already has partial herd immunity.

How many more people have to catch Covid before the NY area has total herd immunity?

Herd immunity for Covid is conjecture that's not based on any hard data.

One reason is that hard data is not readily available. There is some data available for NYC. The diagnostic and antibody test data have been recorded by zip code residence. I'd be interested, if similar data is publicly available. I have not seen it.

What does the latest NYC data show?

There's no correlation between a zip code's diagnostic positive rate with the antibody positive rate. For example, Corona (11368) has diagnostic/antibody rates of 2.5/49.2. That's the zip code with the highest antibody rate. Bushwick (11237) had: 0.5/32.8. Shouldn't that Corona's higher antibody rate have protected at a greater rate than Bushwick's lower antibody rate?

Some say you need 60%. Others say 80-90% to reach "herd immunity".

Back when you could get accurate information, it barely hit 20-25% of the population. And even that I question. The Media tells me it mostly hit the Bronx, and maybe Brooklyn. Everyone who could left the city and never even hung around.

If 20-25% was enough for herd immunity, then Spain and France, which used hockey rinks to store corpses fyi, wouldn't be having a second wave with higher infections today than back in March.

Sorry. Lot of people want to yell that there's herd immunity in NY because they had a bad time. But that was the tip.

As I said, I had no idea what you were talking about, your bringing in irrelevant gibberish about BLM. Since you can neither think nor write clearly, that is your problem, not mine.

You Cult Leader has a socio-pathic disregard even for his most enthusiastic supporters at his INDOOR rallies, packing them in, with no masks, EXCEPT those positioned directly behind Trump himself. They are willing to sacrifice their health for him - true cult behavior.

As was PROVEN last week in Trump's own voice in the Woodward interview, he has ZERO regard for human life and is a pathological liar. You are fine being lead by such a subhuman creature.

Tulsa Health Commissioner estimated 500 people were infected at that rally. Herman Cain has died. Trump's stupid, obnoxious campaign manager Mentaugh deliberately removed social distancing placards from seats to pack people in so as not to make the arena look half empty, which it was.

We don't even know what to make of the antibodies:

- how long do they last
- how effective are they
- do they protect against all strains or mutations of the virus, of which there are now at least 8.

There are 2 categories of vaccines under testing. One is RNA based, the other is not. One vax has already shown to have neurological side effects, and is probably back to the drawing board. One category has to be stored at Minus 70C temperature. It is not the type of thing you will get at the RiteAid pharmacy counter.

Only 39% of the public has confidence is such a vax. Part of that is Trump politicization of the process, that he is too stupid to respect science in general, says it coulc be out by Nov 1, when Redfield just said it is unlikely until to even start next June or July.

" Part of that is Trump politicization of the process,"
Trump is president. The plane is a vaccine. Pelosi made it quite clear and told us she's not going to be there to help us. She'd rather have us in the street after a shutdown than give any aid money at all.
All we have is Operation Warp Speed. Trump is president. That is the policy. Pelosi said we maintain the moniker that Dem's are the "party of no". Yes, it is political. Trump is President. The policy is political.
No duh.

We don't even know what to make of the antibodies:

1) - how long do they last
2) - how effective are they
3) - do they protect against all strains or mutations of the virus, of which there are now at least 8.

1) 90 days. It's the memory cells that's important. The werid part is these people here and there that are getting reinfected. Some early articles, and some random ones have reporters and doctors who are very clueless and the articles are wrong. But there are some others that are convincing imo. Is this a minority and oddness? I wonder if thats the more valid question.

2) I think I am misunderstand the scope of the question, or the science behind the inference. Are we talking cell, or the bodies ability to produce and outrun the SARS2 bugler like tactics of sneaking in and replicating before the body figures it all out?

3) I think there's thousands. My understanding, which don't take my word for this one, is that the mutations aren't that dramatic thus far. Which was the point of the lockdowns before Pelosi and Wilson said "no soup for you" and Trump gave up. To not let it mutate until we know.
In all honestly, the Democrats and the GOP equally fucked us over by not listening to Trump. I'd vote for empty seats if it were allowed. I'd love to start a movement.

Now, we can all say we're boycotting a vaccine and be one of the few nutcase counties in the world while China donates it all over the world and wins new friends. Because the BLM protestors and the Hair Cutters are all inworldly focused instead of seeing the big picture.

We have one President at a time. Pelosi is not that person.

Politicization means corrupting the FDA and CDC with their reporting, and turning Coronavirus Task Force meetings into political rallies and bashing of the media. They are not science driven.

Fauci and Birx should have been running those meetings.

HHS Spokesperson Caputo just had to take a leave of absence for shooting off his mouth that career government scientists were guilty of sedition. This is the same shit that would only be expected in places like Turkey and North Korea, but now in Trump's America.

Trump is a pathological liar. NOBODY should listen to him. He urged ingestion of bleach, thinks we could bomb hurricanes, and thought he re-directed the path of a hurricane toward Alabama with a Sharpie pen.

"Tulsa Health Commissioner estimated 500 people were infected at that rally. "

So? They let schools open. They let kids wander very crowded hallways. Sports. Bars are open.

I just realized something that made me want to comment here. My Art Museum is closed still. Without school trips, I can't even get close to people, nor would I want to. It's exactly crowded on a normal day.
Why is this closed, but schools are packed? Colleges are open. Bars are crowded.

WTF, this is so backwards and obviously partisan that your only trigger point is the President's rally in Tulsa, the day after Rev. Sharpton had his own rally in Tulsa.

This is why we have an epidemic in this country. You're pissing everyone off.
