Re: ''Trump defends claim coronavirus will disappear, citing 'herd mentality'''

The NY area already has partial herd immunity.

How many more people have to catch Covid before the NY area has total herd immunity?

Herd immunity for Covid is conjecture that's not based on any hard data.

One reason is that hard data is not readily available. There is some data available for NYC. The diagnostic and antibody test data have been recorded by zip code residence. I'd be interested, if similar data is publicly available. I have not seen it.

What does the latest NYC data show?

There's no correlation between a zip code's diagnostic positive rate with the antibody positive rate. For example, Corona (11368) has diagnostic/antibody rates of 2.5/49.2. That's the zip code with the highest antibody rate. Bushwick (11237) had: 0.5/32.8. Shouldn't that Corona's higher antibody rate have protected at a greater rate than Bushwick's lower antibody rate?
