Serial bank robber freed thanks to NYS bail reform, strikes another bank.

Posted by Wakefield-241st Street on Sat Jan 11 15:26:30 2020

Thanks to the LLLs being soooooo friendly to criminals, a serial bank robber was out without bail (thank you Cuomo, Johnson and DeBlasio) only to be the prime suspect in another heist just barely a day after getting his "get out of jail" card (and maybe a new cell phone plus Knicks tickets).

Thank you Liberals for destroying the working and corporate class.

So, you're OK with people of means being able to buy their way out of jail, and effectively participate in their own defense, but not ordinary people, who had to sit in jail, convicted of nothing, because they couldn't make bail?

N.B.: The number of suspects who allegedly reoffend after being released is negligible, when counted among the total number of arrests made statewide. Background sources at DCJS told one of my colleagues the recidivism rate of pretrial suspects has pretty much remained constant so far.

You are full of BS, including your "background sources".

We are not talking about who can afford bail or not, that is what bail bondsmen are for. We are talking about KNOWN violent felons comitting felonies which threaten the safety of New Yorkers. You think passing a note to a teller, demanding money, is fine with your phony LLL narrative.

Of course, you completely ignore the fact that if your bail is $50K, you might not have $5,000 just lying around for a bail bondsman if you're an ordinary person.

"Known" felons? If they're awaiting bail, they haven't been tried yet...

There is the Innocece Project which should be made available to those who are truly falsely accused of a crime and prosecutors should work with them in finding out the truth so they can be exonerated. That has nothing to do with setting the majority of thugs back on the streets to terrorize more law abiding citizens.

Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.

It really is fantastic that, in an election year where the Democrats on the Federal level need every vote they can get, in two states they push through legislation that "wakes up the sheeple" (dormant Republicans and Independents) who otherwise might have sat things out. Between this and Virginia, I see potential for ordinarily blue congressional seats to flip red.

I have NEVER felt like this before. All joking aside in the past, once I have seen what uncontrolled and put of control full power Democrats have done in NY, there is no way I can vote for any of them.....and always did depending on the candidate, local position, etc.

Browder was held for 961 days. That's longer than the second plea-bargain he was offered in exchange for a guilty plea, which was 2.5 years. Browder never pled guilty to anything, and he was finally released on an ACD.

The state's handling of the entire case was just obscene.
