OK, I wasn't sure if it did or not. But Country Club is a conservative area, isn't it? They probably didn't vote for her there, and aren't what was meant by "coastal elites".

Pappas won two precincts in Country Club, one in Morris Park, one in Throggs Neck (but not the one with Trump's golf course!), and both precincts in Malba in Queens.

Hopefully Scherie Murray (yes that official website is borderline terrible, likely designed for phones and nothing else). There are other Republicans vying for the spot but as they are white males, they really shouldn't bother.

If they primary AOC and someone else gets in, there's no chance of the seat flipping red. Right now I'd say there's a small chance.

Moderate is a matter of policy. It so happens that I find less of Trump's policies distasteful than I do the current democrat contenders' policies, and I find a lot of the TDS inspired rhetoric to be pointless distraction.

According to Facebook's automatic profiling of me for ad targeting, I'm "US Politics: Very Liberal" (lol). According to NY Times' useless profiler, I'm a democrat voter.

But here are my stances on a variety of topics, you can't really put me in either the Conservative or Liberal camp:
1. pro-universal healthcare (done properly - stop making it more expensive plz)
2. pro-1st, 2nd and 4th amendments to the fullest extent
3. anti-taxes and anti-spending on the federal level (shift as much to the states as possible)
4. pro-life with exceptions
5. pro-border security (as long as it's not a damn wall) - this was a Democrat position as well until TDS
6. pro-immigration reform (make it easier for people to get here legally) - this is anti-corporatist, neither side wants to give up their indentured servitude visas for something better, and an easier migration path for all who apply would make them pointless
7. pro-legalization of drugs (prohibition is an expensive boondoggle that props up criminal enterprise)
8. anti-war and foreign intervention (expensive, let's give someone else a turn at being world police)
9. anti-death penalty with exceptions (maybe if someone's proven to have done it beyond all doubt, not just reasonable)
10. pro-Israel
11. pro-free speech (this is beyond 1st Amendment as I believe it should apply to private companies that have become online versions of the public square - as it stands now oil companies could pool their money, hostile takeover something like twitter or facebook, and ban any discussion of climate change because it's bad for business)
12. pro-federal EPA (something that puts me at odds with big-L Libertarians)
13. pro-gay marriage, against all laws banning homosexual activity (many are still on the books)
14. pro-minimum wage per state, anti-federal minimum wage. NYC's should probably be higher than $15 but forcing $15/hr on Puerto Rico is going to wreck their economy even more. The $7.25/hr one wrecked American Samoa's economy. One size does not fit all here.
15. pro-student loan repayment assistance (immediately reduce interest to 0, or make it possible to discharge the debt via bankruptcy).
16. anti-"woke" politics. Sorry, but I will use gendered language, there are only two sexes, reparations shouldn't happen, and illegally crossing the US border should be punished with deportaion.

I'm a little curious which ones, though I can tell you which views I tend to fluctuate on:
15. Student loan forgiveness(-ish) is a brand new one for me, I heard a solid argument for it recently.
5. For a short while I was pro-wall/fence. I'm back to anti-wall.
4. Pro-life with exceptions
My exception list is higher than what conservatives have as their exception list, so I will sometimes say I'm begrudgingly pro-choice as I don't trust the government to get it right. I also recognize that my pro-life stance stems from a belief that fetuses are literally babies (especially after 3 months) which is a faith-based belief and thus cannot be forced upon others without a science-based fact behind it.
13. While I'm not anti-gay, a lot of my stances on things can be classified anti-trans (i.e. in favor of using sex assigned at birth for matters of incarceration, sports, and bathroom use).

I'm not sure what I may have said on other topics to give a different impression, I've generally held those views at least the last 5 years.

pro-universal healthcare (done properly)

Under government, no such thing. In the private sector, it was universal. Also, "universal" and "free" are not synonyms, so please don't play that game.

pro-federal EPA

Why?!? There is absolutely no purpose for the federal government to have their nose in such a thing, never mind the fact that government initiatives that are "environmental" are invariably directed towards the purpose of driving the private sector into the public sector, no exceptions. Better study into that a bit deeper.

Why am I anti-wall?
1. It's expensive
2. It does nothing about people overstaying visas, which is a bigger problem
3. If we legalize drugs a good chunk of the reason for having a wall goes away
4. Because as I've said a million times, any wall that can keep people out, can keep us in. Someday the communists might wrest control of the US government and being able to GTFO easily will be important, especially if we're stupid enough to let them take the guns first.

Some expenses are necessary to defray the bigger expense of invasion of illegals.

People overstaying visas is not a "bigger problem", especially if you look at what's been happening at the border (MS-13 doesn't overstay visas any more than the SOTB cartels). Never mind that being a false dilemma.

Legalizing drugs has not helped anything. Debauchery and addiction goes up with legalization of hard drugs; better look at the stats.

So how many Americans are escaping to Mexico illegally? And how would an armed US populace have to worry about being kept in, and by whom??

I don't expect universal healthcare to be free. I expect it to be a line item on the paystub, probably replacing the "Medicare" line, likely higher than the medicare line but hopefully lower than the medicare + current private insurance line (unlikely in my case).

And it certainly was not universal, see: people with preexisting conditions who had their insurance lapse.

Pro-federal EPA
Why? Because without it Minnesota can allow Minneapolis to dump all their trash in the Mississippi River and it becomes the problem of every state downstream.

pro-gay marriage:
They're not forcing the Catholic church to recognize or perform same-sex marriage. We do not live in a caliphate, religious prohibitions should automatically translate to legal prohibitions.

I would also add that using the money to hire more investigative staff, developing better technology, and having more immigration Judges, all of which can be done with the money allocated to the “wall” can help us catch and deport illegals faster.

Since what you're proposing here is Crazy Bernie's "Medicare for all", then there's no reason to, is there.

And I put "free" in scare quotes because that's exactly what I envisioned anyhow.

3 and 4 I would consider conservative.

I am pro-abortion (pro-choice is euphemism and I am against euphemism) because I don't consider embryos to be babies and believing such I consider to be faith-based on not evidence-based.

I agree with you about most of your points. I disagree with you about federal spending. I disagree with state minimum wages, but I would favor a regional minimum wage, but established by Congress.

I am opposed to student loan forgiveness but can be convinced otherwise. I would personally benefit from it (unless it were means-tested), but I don't struggle with it, so it would be a windfall for me.

The argument presented to me about student loan forgiveness is that, as each graduating class gets deeper and deeper in student loan debt, they start looking for what seems to be an easy solution and may be swayed towards communism. Reducing interest to 0 or allowing discharge via bankruptcy has a two-fold effect: it saves the current batch of students while turning off the spigot of irresponsible lending (since lenders will no longer have reason to offer student loans under the current lax terms). Expensive private schools will face an immediate problem and have to lower their tuition costs while state and local colleges will be in a great position to benefit. States like NY that have their own free-college solution for instate residents will become attractive.

I'm not sure why you think Congress should be establishing regional minimum wages as opposed to the regions themselves, unless it was something like legislating a minimum wage that is pegged to the local cost of living (for example, the federal government has regional adjustments for their employees' pay scales - perhaps use that?).
