Re: AOC plays the race card

The argument presented to me about student loan forgiveness is that, as each graduating class gets deeper and deeper in student loan debt, they start looking for what seems to be an easy solution and may be swayed towards communism. Reducing interest to 0 or allowing discharge via bankruptcy has a two-fold effect: it saves the current batch of students while turning off the spigot of irresponsible lending (since lenders will no longer have reason to offer student loans under the current lax terms). Expensive private schools will face an immediate problem and have to lower their tuition costs while state and local colleges will be in a great position to benefit. States like NY that have their own free-college solution for instate residents will become attractive.

I'm not sure why you think Congress should be establishing regional minimum wages as opposed to the regions themselves, unless it was something like legislating a minimum wage that is pegged to the local cost of living (for example, the federal government has regional adjustments for their employees' pay scales - perhaps use that?).
