"This Is MAGA Country"
Posted by JayZeeBMT on Tue Jan 29 16:37:18 2019 Two assailants described as white men allegedly carried out a vicious gay-bashing, racial assault against Jussie Smollett, the openly gay star of the hit TV series Empire in Chicago early this morning. The suspects accosted Smollett at a Subway restaurant around 2 AM, asking the actor, "aren't you that faot 'Empire' nier?", before placing a noose around Smollett's neck, pouring bleach on him, and breaking his rib. As the attackers fled the scene, they yelled, "This is MAGA country," police noted. Smollett was treated and released at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Police are reviewing surveillance footage of the attack, as well as a letter mailed to the Chicago Fox affiliate last week, which threatened Smollett's life, and bore the word "MAGA" in its upper left-hand corner. The suspects are both still at large. The violence of the Trump cult continues.

There is nothing "conservative" about it. Skokie is adjacent to Chicago, and had a substantial KKK presence. It now also has a Holocaust museum. From TMZ: "4:00 PM PT -- Chicago PD confirms to TMZ Jussie told them, in a follow-up interview, about the attackers yelling, "MAGA country." So when he first talks to the police he doesn't mention them yelling MAGA, but remembers it later. Could happen. He was shaken up. TMZ had evidently retracted that part of their story based on the police telling them that didn't happen and then they confirmed that he mentioned it in a follow up. From later today I guess. They add Jussie still had the rope around his neck when he made contact with cops at 2:42 AM. Remember, the attack happened around 2 AM." Why did he keep the noose on? Is the Empire crew being stalked? Do Trump supporting, white supremacists watch Empire? Why is it/Jussie even on their radar? Also the TMZ source says that the video from the nearby Target only shows one person, presumably Jussie. Does he have any mental issues or is this real?

I happen to know Jussie, and he is neither mentally ill, or given to concocting incidents like this one. Why is it that when the victim cites MAGA or Trump, the entire incident becomes questionable, but when the situation is reversed, the victims are not to be doubted (remember the Proud Boys melee, and how those who questioned their version of events were shouted down, until the truth came out)?

I have no idea if it happened but if it did he was obviously targeted. I don't think that it's random that trump supporting white supremacists would be walking around with bleach, a noose, and know who Jussie smallet is. And if it is targeted, why would they attack him? It seems like something is missing.

This particular crime is of interest because if a high profile gay celebrity like Jussie can be attacked like this, then certainly nobody in the LGBTQ community is safe at all. The Trumper angle just makes it orders of magnitude worse.
