I have zero trust in his motives. Knowing him, I got a suspicion that he has the fantasy of having the area developed by some real estate speculator after getting a fat under the table envelope. Similar to what he tried to pull off with the carriage horse stables. Also sensing that he is not the brightest bulb in the chandelier, inasmuch that he might not realize that there is little desire to build on land that is bounded by an airport & Potters field. But IMO what might work there is a casino. |

Nah Jim, this idea has been floated around before deBlasio, the suicide of a gentlemen who was in holding at Rikers for 3 years and the rampant corruption and crimes occuring at Rikers sparked the discussion again. |

The Hart Island Ferry has to come up from St. George when there are bodies to be buried. I don't know if it makes a stop at Rikers Island to pick up the convicts or not. The dead are delivered to Fordham Street in City Island and taken from there by the ferry over to Hart Island. Larry, RedbirdR33 |

I believe the convicts who dig the graves at Potter's Field are housed in a small facility on Hart Island, or perhaps on the prison barge at the foot of Halleck St. in the Bronx. |

The ferry that ran to Rikers left from East 143rd Street or thereabouts. Hart Island is much further north lying to the east of City Island. Larry, RedbirdR33 |
