I don't add butter to anything (don't cook), so I try to cut back on red meat (including chicken), per doctor's orders, to try to cut down on cholesterol. Turns out it's still pretty hard, even though I like fish. |

You should eat red meat(steak or ground not processed like roast beef), grass-fed butter, chicken, fish, WHOLE EGGS, butter to cook with or season foods.Doctors are the reason we're an unhealthy society. Their advice over the last 4 or more decades to avoid fat has made us fatter and sicker than ever. Since you have to eat 7 days a week, it's best to rotate your protein/fat sources over the course of a week. |

Unfortunately, doctors are the only way to find out if your cholesterol and LDL/HDL levels are on track (short of getting a heart attack or stroke :-(). The thing is to avoid animal fat. Was eating eggs for awhile, but dropped them - apparently they're not good if your cholesterol is already high. Have to confirm with the doc before trying again. |

Posted by LuchAAA on Wed May 24 17:24:16 2017, in response to Re: Bread vs. Wrap, posted by 3-9 on Wed May 24 17:04:15 2017. fats high in Omega 6 are bad, whether it's animal fat or plant sourced.Grass-fed beef has much less omega 6 than factory farmed beef. If you can afford pasture raised eggs, grass-fed beef and butter, plus almonds, swiss cheese, avocado, and dark chocolate, the weight will come off and your labs will improve. Today I eat, 2 strips pastured bacon 3 whole eggs 1 pound potatoes 1 peach 2 oz macadamia nuts 2 oz Swiss cheese 6 oz chicken Asparagus Tomorrow I'll eat beef instead of chicken. Honestly there is less evidence than ever that cholesterol is bad or a "nutrient of concern". It's a scam to keep people on meds and gets blood work. And your cholesterol will increase as you eat less fat and more carbs. |

I like California EVOO but its expensive. In the past I ordered from a distributor who sells direct from harvest from Europe. Their harvest is in November and it gets here to the US by February. Last time I ordered from Sicily. I might do it this year. Right now I am tracking saturated fat intake. |

Check out the labels in the local supermarket and you’ll see they typically EVO naming several countries as the source of their oil which generally means a potluck of fresh and rotten olives. |

He is right about raw milk.He is probably right about vegetable oils. Problem is, if just 50% of America agreed with him and eliminated them, there wouldn't be enough alternative fats to replace them. |
