Well, let's see what we DO know so far.Zimmerman: Stalked and followed Trayvon Martin, even after being specifically instructed by a 911 operator not to do so, Exited his vehicle armed with a semi-automatic pistol, and accosted Trayvon Martin, Almost certainly touched or grabbed Trayvon, in an attempt to "hold" him for the police, something he had no authority whatsoever to do, Got into a physical altercation with Trayvon, during which he shot the teenager full in the chest at point-blank range. If the Sanford police had bothered themselves to test Zimmerman for drugs and/or alcohol, and done a criminal background check on this monster (as opposed to merely taking Zimmerman's word that he had no priors), there might be even more evidence than what I just listed. Even the authors of the "Stand Your Ground" law have publicly admitted Zimmerman is not eligible for its protections, based on the known facts of the case so far. One possible reason Zimmerman was treated with such leniency, is that his father is a retired judge from the area. I wonder how the media missed that one? So, we have Zimmerman, in the course of carrying out extralegal, unauthorized street vigilantism, accosting, manhandling, and shooting Trayvon Martin to death. |
