Black men are seen as threatening and potentially dangerous by many people that hire.No, black men are seen as "threatening and potentially dangerous" by those who make hiring decisions, and still subscribe to those bigoted stereotypes. Again, I had a dynamite boss during my EMS years named Daquan, and he was as tough a stickler for the rules as anyone I ever took orders from. But he was also a top-notch medic (one of a select few I'd want working on me if I were the patient), and his name was obviously no indicator of his work performance. |
