This is the other shoe that I've been waiting to hear drop!!!

It's finally happened! Where, oh where, is the resounding chorus of support in the (very republican) business/ corporate community to step up the deportation of undocumentated workers?

That deafening sound is the sound of silence! What we're hearing, in fact, is the opposite. Who the hell is going to do the work? Pick the fruit and vegetables before they rot on the vine? Process the hogs and chickens in the plants? Oops! Not nearly enough to do the required work.

The xenophobes are screaming "build the fence, throw them out" or, in the inimitable style of Pat Buchanan, "No way, Jose."

No, it's not the liberals, the democrats-- it's the Republican business community that's saying, "umm, we got a problem."

"We're all for immigrants if they enter legally." That's always the stock response. Except that can take years and years. Won't help this summer's crop, will it.
