Why should a drug company have to follow it up? If a readily available drug shows promise against this disease, why not start giving it now to people who have the disease?

The initial results were in vitro not on a human. The Koreans are now doing clinical trials. The trials started March 11th. The results may be known as early as May. There's no guarantee that what works in a test tube will work in the human body.
