Will you explain the need to follow protocols to the families of people who die from the disease if it turns out that they could have been saved by the use of a drug that was already available, and already thought to be a possible cure? (See, that kind of argument works both ways.) I said try it with informed consent, explaining the risks as well as the possible benefits. Some people, I expect, will be willing to take that risk, and if they are, the families should not second-guess them. (And if it works, it would also save possibly millions from losing their jobs due to all these widespread shutdowns.) |
