Why should a drug company have to follow it up? If a readily available drug shows promise against this disease, why not start giving it now to people who have the disease? It certainly makes no sense to say, on the one hand, that this disease is so dangerous they have to close down schools, restaurants, theaters, etc. to prevent its spread, but on the other hand, that they dare not use a potentially effective treatment on anyone without waiting months for it to go through all the formal protocols that have been established for new drug trials. It's not a new drug. Try it now. (With the informed consent of the patients, obviously, but that shouldn't be hard to obtain, if the disease is as bad as they say.)BTW, I saw an interesting piece about what the origins of this disease may really be at https://greatgameindia.com/covid19-files-scientific-investigation-on-mysterious-origin-of-coronavirus/. |
