The records produced are the papers of the individual, but happened to be stored by the phone company. In this day and age of cloud computing most records are stored externally. To hold that the government can now make an end run around the warrant requirement because of these technological advances makes mincemeat of the Fourth Amendment and runs counter to the text and understanding of the framers. |
