I worked in the insurance industry for a number of years.

What AEM-7AC #901 said is exactly correct.

Most illegal immigrants, when they get into an accident either:

a.) are uninsured

and/or

b.) flee from the scene of the accident

c.) provide false information to the other parties involved

It really costs a pretty penny, especially if there are injuries involved.
