Hate to confuse you with facts but NY allows CRNA's to administer anesthesia under the supervision of the anesthesiologist; the MD does not have to be in the OR while it's administered or during surgery. The MD does meet with the patient beforehand to review any contraindications and answer questions; so does the CRNA.
