The undisputed facts are there was a scuffle (the extent to which is disputed)at the car. He said Brown reached for his gun and fired one shot which hit Brown in the hand. Brown runs away. This is where the story defies logic. He runs after Brown and an unarmed Brown stops turn around and with a gun pointed at him and having already been shot in the hand the unarmed Brown at more than arms distace away decides to charge officer Wilson who has a gun pointed at him. The Wilson said he reached in his waist band bf he charged at him. Why would he reach in his waist band if he had nothing there? Then after backup comes they let him drive to the station BY HIMSELF and put his own gun into evidence. Is that SOP for an officer subject to an investigation? Do they even have an account for what he did between the scene and the station? The whole situation stunk. Those should have at least been questioned by the prosecutor. Now Brown was by no means a saint and deserved to have been put in jail and held accountable for his crimes but that does not take away from the fact the officer's story was suspicious and the whole dept/legal process in dealung witg the aftermath was incompetent in the least and at worst highly suspicious. Imo this case had enough questions and enough doubt should have been casted on the officer's story and the dept's handling of the situation after had the prosecutor did his job to go to trial. I still doubt he would have been convicted bc his character would have been in serious question bc of the initial scuffle with the officer and the video at the store of him taking those cigarettes. |
