Those who were doing things like that, were part of a splinter group, not the original march organizers. The main March was overwhelmingly peaceful, and I saw no violent incidents at all.

I should also note that every cop I interacted with was on his or her best behavior. They were all courteous and professional. I was a grand marshal at the March, and the cops actually made it easy.
