A chokehold was used in taking Garner into custody, a method that is specifically forbidden by the NYPD. The Medical Examiner rules this chokehold to be a cause of Garner's death, making it a homicide. There is clear video showing the actual cop who applied the chokehold causing Garner's death.1. A forbidden chokehold was applied. 2. The officer involved was trained by his department NOT to use it in making an arrest. 3. There is video of him doing exactly that to arrest Garner, an unarmed, sickly prisoner. 4. As a direct result of the use of this chokehold, Garner is now dead. 5. Grand Juries are a prosecutor's forum, and the Staten Island DA had all of this undisputed evidence at his disposal. I have just laid out all the elements in this case, that should have overwhelmingly resulted in an indictment. My nose is an old friend of mine, and it tells me something stinks to high heaven! |
