Let's see.

This news was referred to me by a bona fide expert on the Middle East, with whom I discussed it at length.

Why wouldn't I ask the guy who claims to be a genetic descendent of mythical people what he thinks before forming conclusions based on the mountain of evidence available to me?

There was a great quote I wish I could dig up, I think from an MK, who lamented that this invasion is simply offering further evidence that violence wins Israeli concessions while unilateral peace offers lead to invasion and apartheid, sending the wrong message to Gaza and the world, but I can't find it offhand.
